The Casimir Effect
How can "empty space" exert a force between objects?
Timothian Model's Short Answer...
There is no empty space; subatomic pieces of physical matter can be moved about but never created or destroyed.
Details
Casimir effect as a result of chunk medium dynamics:
Arises from differences in chunk pressures between confined and open spaces.
No need for virtual particles or zero-point energy.
Provides a classical, mechanical explanation for a quantum phenomenon.
Complete medium oscillation cycles cannot propagate in the tight space between plates, creating a pressure differential from between to outside the plates.
